Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society, incorporated in 1987, is a registered charity, dedicated to preserving healthy wildlife and wildlife systems in northwest North America through education. NWPS has earned a reputation within the environmental community as a powerful advocate for wildlife largely through the development and delivery of a broad series of educational programs and services, newsletters and correspondence, which reach an average of 10,000 individuals annually.

Hourly rate: $25.00

Maximum hours per month: 80

Contract Summary

The Fundraiser is responsible for developing and maintaining strong funding relationships with Corporate Sponsors, Foundations and the general public. This position is required to research and identify potential funders, develop and deliver proposals, create events and activities focused on revenue generation as well as increase public awareness of the society’s activities. Must be able to work closely with Educators in the development of major environmental education projects requiring funding.

Reporting Line

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and ultimately the Board of Directors.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Post Secondary education combined with experience in the fundraising field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years proven experience in the development and delivery of successful fundraising proposals and programs for non-profits that are extensively supported by Corporate and Foundation sponsors. Must be proficient in the use of MS Office 2010. Social Media experience a definite asset.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have tact, diplomacy and the ability to problem solve and conflict resolve. Must be mature and self disciplined.
