Tips for Earth:


  1. Walk, bike or take transit to work.
  2. Bring cloth bags or reuse shopping bags when grocery shopping.
  3. Pack school or work lunches in reuseable plastic containers.
  4. Reuse the backside of paper for scrap paper.
  5. Refill water bottles at home and use them again instead of buying new bottled water.
  6. Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth!
  7. Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins.
  8. Make a sign for your mail box requesting that 'Junk Mail' not be delivered.
  9. Put up bird boxes and bat boxes around your home so that animals have a safe place to live.
  10. Secure lids on trash cans so that wildlife can't get into the garbage!
  11. Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
  12. Turn down the thermostat at night and when you leave home.
  13. Do not use fertilizers on your lawn.
  14. Don't dump anything down storm drains!
  15. Never feed wild animals 'human food' like popcorn and bread!
  16. Use old newspaper to clean windows instead of paper towel.
  17. Recycle plastic, glass and cardboard and buy products made from recycled materials.
  18. Carpool to work. You can talk to your friends and avoid traffic.
