EARTH WEEK

Happy Earth Month!!

This April, Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society celebrated Earth Day with an entire week of events highlighting our natural world. On April 20, 21 & 24 NWPS staff did various wildlife presentations in schools highlighting the great biodiversity of British Columbia. On Earth Day, April 22, NWPS staff and volunteers attended Eco-Fest in Richmond helping to educate over 100 students. On April 25, staff helped out at Teera Nova parkwith several activities including tree planting, invasive species removal and bird observations. Several volunteers managed to plant more than 650 trees and shrubs! On April 26, NWPS staff and volunteers helped out at EarthFest in Burnaby. This event had several wildlife and environmental exhibitors, bird watching and bird box construction and even a bat play put on by volunteers.

In addition, our Green Ribbon campaign is in full swing and rounding out the end of April. We have had tremendous support so far and a great thanks to all.
